The Christmas Song - Nat King Cole

언젠가부터 좀 이르다 싶게 크리스마스 캐롤을 듣는게 좋아서
빠르면 10월중순 이후로 캐롤을 듣곤 한다.
그러고는 길가면서도 쉽게 들을수 있는 노래말고
다른걸 찾아보기도하고.

그렇게 관심을 두게 되면서부터 제일 좋아하는 곡을 고르라면
냇킹콜이 부른 'The Christmas Song'을 고르게 되었다.

집에 벽난로가 있어본적도 없지만
이노래를 듣고 있자면
어렸을적 크리스마스 이브에
가족들이 함께 촛불도 켜놓고
노래도 부르고 케익도 먹었던
그런장면에 있지도 않았던 벽난로가 어우러져
머리속에 그려진다.

이글을 쓰려고 검색을 좀 해보니 원제는 'Chestnuts roasting on an open fire'
영어에 귓구멍이 전혀 열리지 않은 내가 모닥불이 느껴졌던걸 보면
분위기가 온몸으로 전해졌나보다.
